J.D. Salinger, writer of arguably the greatest fictional narrative of teenage angst, has died. Unlike many of my peers, I first read The Catcher in the Rye in my late 20s. Still, it had a profound effect on me and I recommend every young man (and woman) not follow my lead and read this literary masterpiece during their formative years.
